I love the way lads pronounce it Joe Linton as if he’s a fucking Geordie. Fwiw it’s pronounced Joe Elinton.

Do you love that you do?

It’s a massive issue around Lockray

Surprised a wanabee hipster like yourself didn’t know the correct pronunciation.

I obviously don’t love regional accents as much as you do

I see Eddie considered it, and played joelinton regardless @Fagan_ODowd

Donovan, living below in Kanturk, no less.

He’s been living in West Cork off and on for almost 40 years. We had a couple of pints wan evening in Schull in the late 70’s early 80’s. An alright sort as far as I’m concerned.

I had to tell him my name which disappointed me a little but we got over it.

Been there for 20 or 30 years. He is married to an ex of Brian Jones and her son with Jones used to always be around. Shaun Ryder and other similar party animals would have been over and back for years… All v popular with the locals they would drink in the local with no airs and graces

An interesting fella. Was the father-in-law to Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys back in the 90s when he married Donovan’s daughter (the actress Ione Skye).

Why?
Are you famous or something?

You have to add the odd embellishment here and there. Of course not, had I met him the following day he’d have forgotten it. :ok_hand:

Pity.

You strike me as the kind of fellow who might dot the eyes and cross the teas professionally.

It’s a bit of a bug-bear of mine unfortunately. Boxty Mór held that things were either right or wrong and by God when you thought near enough was good enough you’d be mistaken and would know about it.

He wasn’t a man for loquacious speeches, but he took the time to write me a letter on the occasion of my 21st and there wasn’t a spelling or nuance out of place and I’ve tried to replicate his attention to detail all my life. I treasure it dearly - blue notepaper and fountain pen era……

Of course my own children think I’m overly pedantic, but I’m having (I think) a positive effect on the next generation which seems to meet with a modicum of approval. Grandchildren are the business.:+1:

You’re a regular Jed Bartlett.

Is he the young lad that the Allen Gaels lads are bigging up?
Supposed to be the next great white hope……
