Hardly a starter after being out of inter-county for 4 years? Beneficial to have him around though

Nah, a last 20 minutes man id say

We have Archie Champ on the minor football panel for the Leinster opener & I see our attack is being led by Salami from centre forward. Two candidates for the great sportsperson names thread.

Mobarack Salami to give him his full title.

be gorra, what next? he might return to St Pats Palmerstown whom he played for when he was with the Dublin seniors

Oh fuck

Connollys father is KK, football is as foreign to us as a lad from Mongolia.

Not that i can think of.

Very few but surely James McCarthy, jack mccaffrey etc?

That really is mental given how many people there are matching that description in Dublin.
Wed be splitting Dublin in six never mind two if they properly got their act together and spread the net a bit wider.

You asked for 2 x non irish parents. Not non Dublin parents. There are loads of lads with both dublin born parents

No I was back to talking about the non Irish ones for the mental thing. That’s a huge issue surely? It is all over the country but especially in Dublin given the complete lack of them and how many there are.
But the non muldoon parents one also does show how narrow the dub gaa gene pool is.
The vast majority of dub gaa players seem to have country parents

I think your overthinking the Dublin born parent thing. Playing numbers at juvenile level have quadrupled in the last 20 years. I don’t thinkreally it really matters if there parents are dubs or country.

The gaa as a whole should be doing better attracting new Irish.

I could be wrong but I think they are growing in certain areas (more upwardly mobile areas with people from the country) and not at all in others (less upwardly mobile areas with people from Dublin and outside Ireland). Not commented on much but that wouldnt be far from the truth?
It’s unbelievable that after nearly 30 years of immigration not one child of immigrants has played for Dublin.
You’re right about around the country too of course. How many have played senior inter county. Would it even be ten?
Kind of like how no Asian has played soccer for England

They need to keep track of the 3 indigenous Irish ethnicities, Travellers, Country People and Dubs. Otherwise one of em could be marginalised end up on a reservation
