Jesus Christ. Another one left behind. Well played Dublin.

that was a game for the ages. Dublin not at their best but really came into it in the 2nd half. macarthy was excellent for the dubs. mayo need a couple of forwards to win an AI. the misses is elated here we are watching it again now

I missed the 1st goal vhrist the mayo defence were awful

Mayo’s 1-16 was the joint highest losing total posted in an All Ireland Final. Galway posted 2-13 in their 7 point defeat to Cork in 1973, but that was an 80 minute final.

Of the 5 All Ireland’s won by Dublin since 2011, four were won 1 point (one of those in a replay) and the other by 3 points. A feature in probably four of those five final wins was winning in late off the bench. In both hurling and football, the advent to a 21 man has disproportionately favoured the counties with the larger populations and bigger playing pools. In rugby, the strength of the 7 or 8 players that New Zealand can throw on for the last 20 minutes in rugby has strengthened their dominance and stranglehold in that code. Reducing the number of subs back down to 3 should be looked at.

Taoiseach Varadkar on the Marty Squad now giving his take on it all.

Yawn fuckin yawn
