EFL 2016/17, incorporating Championship, League 1 & League 2

I was willing to welcome anyone but Lerner by the end of his term. Dr.T has started well. I think they have addressed the issues within the team fairly well so far . Signing McCormack Jedinak and Elphick who are all leaders and were captains of their clubs. 2 of them captained teams to promotion from the championship already. The big problem with Xia being so open on social media is when a run of bad results comes or when the fans think a manager should go it could get very messy. In short he has made a promising start but the jury is still very much out on the whole thing.

Shane Duffy takes first steps on the road to redemption tonight by scoring the winner in extra time.

Ha, I noticed that. Duffy will be alright. Heā€™ll be an average Championship, mid table Premier League player. Heā€™ll do a job for us for a few years. Mark my words.

Watched back the goals there. Nearly all of the Newcastle ones came from a hoof - sorry, long ball - from JJ Shelvey. He could well end up being championship player of the season

I enjoyed the international break but itā€™s great to have the championship back tonight. Neil Warnockā€™s first game in charge of struggling Cardiff City against Callum Oā€™Dowdaā€™s Bristol City. Is Tammy Abraham really the next big thing?

Twice former European Cup winners Nottingham Forest also host Birmingham City. Iā€™ve earmarked Bluesā€™ boss Gary Rowett as a young British manager with potential to be the next Sean Dyche or Eddie Howe. I canā€™t praise him higher than that.

Big Steve Bruce has his Aston Villa bow tomorrow evening at home to Wolves.

Isnā€™t he little Steve Bruce again?

Rowett looks the real deal indeed.

You forgot to mention McClaren back at Derby too, just in time to play my Leeds. Weā€™re in decent shape of late but weā€™re never far off going to complete shit again. That said, I think itā€™s our best squad in years and weā€™re only a few consistent goal scorers off really competing at the top.

I see Wolves have a new deal with some Chinese crowd to show their games on TV there. Itā€™s mad how little coverage there is for Championship games. I regularly check reddit/firstrow for links and very rarely will there be one, but for a 2nd tier game in Estonia thereā€™ll be links for every game.

Good to see you having an interest in the league where all Scottish internationals can aspire to play .

Good?

Yes , I like to see you happy .

Bamba poked home to put Cardiff 2-0 up but Tomlin pulled a goal back almost immediately when the Bluebirds had a player down injured and they refused to knock the ball out of play. Controversy at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Oā€™Dowda for Abraham. '80.

Incredible scenes in the worldā€™s greatest league today.

Norwich City travelled to promotion rivals Brighton, started Wes Hoolahan, got beaten 5-0 and took Hoolahan off.

Is that the first time ever a team with Hoolahan in the starting lineup has lost a game?

High flying Huddersfield also hammered by Fulham. Newcastle are going to romp to the league title, shame Daryl Murphy went there, he isnā€™t close to the match day squad at present and a few niggly injuries arenā€™t helping.

Ipswich are struggling for goals in his absence too

My Leeds are tipping away lovely. We have cult heroes, memorable moments, a connection & buzz around the club for the first time in years. Really tough run next 2 months but if weā€™re top 10 by the new year I fancy a cut off the play-offs.

Only 1-2 players away from being a serious team, the only problem being half of them will be gone by the start of next year.

Another big win for Newcastle, they are going to walk the league. Wouldnt be surprised if they get a record points haul.

6 points separate 6th to 17th.

Fulham are flying at the minute.

They have Jokanovic in charge who took Watford up two years ago.
