I used to log in multiple times a day but the algorithm got really weird and I donāt think Iām a weirdo so I just stopped without even thinking about it,

I would rarely have posted anything outside of the score of a club game but you would want to curate your feed fairly rigorously to keep the mad shit out, and even then you will see enough of it

If you want to be informed about the currents that are driving worldwide fascism and how they work you have to be on it.
Like I remember the foreign correspondent Mary Fitzgerald being asked on RTE Radio if she had actually watched the video of American journalist James Foley having his head cut off by ISIS. She replied that yes she had watched it because she felt it was her duty as a journalist to have watched it. To understand what evil is and how it works you have to confront yourself with seeing that evil in action.
Obviously the problem with that is the world has a vast amount of credulous cretins who will believe the shit on Twitter.
Twitter was something of value, and even still now can occasionally be, as is seen regarding the protests in Iraq and during the genocide in Palestine. But overwhelmingly itās now something that is playing a central role in driving the world towards a precipice of total insanity.
People canāt or wonāt get off it because it is the dominant player in the social media space and remains so because of inertia and critical mass - and because itās where all the shit happens.
It has to go, and be forced to go soon through goverrnments banning the fuck out of it, but that isnāt ideal either, as Twitter either being banned or collapsing under the weight of its own fascist bullshit would effecitively erase vast records of modern history.
As was said at the time by anybody with a brain, Elon Musk being allowed to buy it was a disaster for the world. The best outcome for the world would be for Musk to have a bullet put through his (very small) brain, if anybody can find it. Best aim for the ego maybe.
Until that happens and Musk is either dead or locked up like he deserves to be, Twitter needs to go and it canāt happen soon enough. That should be a given when something becomes fascist propaganda machine AND a website where people can pay Elon Musk to generate child porn on demand.
There were a lot of posters here who were jubilant over the child porn on demand guy taking Twitter over.
I fully expect that even if everybody moves to BlueSky and/or Twitter collapses or is banned, fascists will just buy BlueSky and turn that platform into a fascist hellhole. Pretty much all social media platforms will eventually become fascist hellholes. This forum has declined hugely because the fascist posters continually spam the place. On other Irish forums the exact same thing has happened. The major worldwide social media websites have pretty much all become fascist hellholes to greater or lesser degrees.
