Much of it is self inflicted by Europe. Its what happens when unelected bureaucrats are accountable to no one only powerful lobby and interest groups. What we are seeing is the gradual de-industrialisation of Europe and a European project that may be coming to an end by a death of a thousand cuts. With regards to Nord stream US have a long history of being agent provocateurs. Nothing would surprise me here.
