I think you’ll find it was the England knockers who ridiculed the notion that they would have an easier route by playing Colombia.
There was a real air of certainty around amongst the knockers that Colombia would beat them.
Now the knockers have rowed back on that in an attempt to spin their earlier position.
Football will be coming home again in 2020, by the way. That has already been officially arranged. The semi-finals and final as well as several other games of Euro 2020 are fixed for Wembley.

Football comes home again in two years time, regardless of the winner of the tournament.

I dont think there was an air of certainty that Colombia would win. One poster on here said months before the predicted route that Colombia would win, and some on here have been feasting on that since, despite the fact that Colombia’s by far best player was ruled out in the game previous to the last 16 encounter. And in any case, England only got through on a lottery. A decent result to get a draw with Colombia, but hardly beyond the realms of expectation considering the poor performance from all South American teams at this World Cup, arguably the worst performance by the continent in a long long time.
England in for a rude awakening in nations league. Spain will embarrass them.
There was lads openly sobbing here saying it was the best night of their lives when ROI beat Italy B in the Europeans.
It’s hilarious really mate. It’s a bit like predicting Barcelona to win the Champions League in January and then Messi gets injured for the rest of the season and people laugh at your prediction
