Some excellent recruitment there by Sunderland to lure guys like Xhaka, Mukiele, Brobbey, Gertruida etc. who wouldâve viewed themselves as being capable of playing for a higher calibre of team. Serious management by Le Bris to knit them together with the lads who played in the championship. Fulham 2018-19 or Ipswich of last season couldnât manage it after big outlays.

Sunderland have a good few hefty lads who are well able to hold their own in aerial tussles and in the physical tussles.
A friend of mine whoâs living over there was saying they were only mid-table championship last season in terms of wages so they needed a big spend to have any chance of bridging the gap. Losing so many players to AFCON will test them but they should be safe at least.

They sold very well over the summer to be fair to them which opened up a bunch of PSR opportunities a lot of promoted clubs donât normally get

All goals scored in the Premier League are automatically checked by the VAR . They will check for any infringements by the attacking team in the attacking possession phase (APP) that led to the goal.
It starts with effort and drive. Some of those players are just dialling it in. Curtis Jones in lead up to goal was fantastic but those moments are too rare. Chiesa ironically probably saved Slots job tonight and can hardly get a look in. Every time hes on the pitch hes making contributions. Isak on the other hand is clearly a favourite of Slot, almost gets a full 90 and was anonymous. Isak will come up against better defenders than Ballard but Ballard by the end was nearly getting on end of things in Liverpool box. No game is a given at the moment - A long season ahead.

Itâs a right mess. You have VVD, Salah and Robertson legless but give you the odd performance.
Wirtz, Isak , Kerkez not settled at all and Iask doesnât look like he fits what Slot wants to play. McCallister, Gravel head had their flaws in that system last year but look to be half hearted this year. Gakpo a one trick pony with no pace.
Diaz gave you pace and unpredictability and TAA turned it back to front in gig time. Two big losses.
The nerds got it all wrong and you cant blame slot for the recruitment part. But at the same time they are playing gutless, predictable football and he looks clueless how to change it.

Villa v Arsenal is a good game. Real ebb and flow to it. Both teams pushing hard for the winner but Arsenal just starting to turn the screw.

On current form yeah. An awful pity Villa started the season so slowly with only 3 points from the first 5 games.
This has been an excellent game. Possibly set up for Arsenal to nick it late on as Villa have missed some glorious chances.
