Might be alright as youth team coach but we have a good youth staff since before MON’s time. He will go to Ipswich I reckon.

Hard to know who Villa might go for. Still reckon its an attractive proposition if Lerner gets the cheque book out for a new manager. A lot of deadwood to be cut now aswell. Laurent Blanc might see it as a stepping stone.[/quote]

How would Villa be an improvement on Bordeaux?

Top of his domestic league, quarter final of the Champions League.

It would be stepping stone downwards if anything.

Big time.

Young is a far supierior right full than Carlos in both defending and attacking, I think its harsh on Cuellar because he was doing well at centre half and probably deserves his place ahead of Collins but he is being skinned every week at right full.

Fair enough. I’ll take your considered word on that.

This fella seems like quite the prick

Everton have written to Garry Cook, the Manchester City chief executive, to demand an explanation following an incident in which he had a stand-up row with a guest of the Goodison Park club who was watching the 2-0 victory of David Moyes’ team from the directors’ box at Eastlands on Wednesday.

George Downing, a successful businessman who is well respected on Merseyside, is understood to be furious at his treatment by Cook.

City, though, are bemused at his and Everton’s reaction to the episode and are denying any wrong-doing from their chief executive, believing that he was merely reacting to Downing’s behaviour, which they claim was inappropriate.

The Eastlands club are asserting that near the end of the match Downing joined the Everton supporters singing of their impending victory while still in the directors’ box. City claim he directed at least one chorus of this at Cook, though this is denied.

Everton, meanwhile, are claiming that it was Cook who initiated the spat and City sources say that he was within his rights to challenge Downing.

After the game Downing is alleged to have continued to the chairman’s suite at the stadium. Cook, it is claimed, was not present at this point but one of his party decided to ask Downing to leave. It is claimed that Cook subsequently had a cordial drink with the Everton chairman, Bill Kenwright, and his wife, following the alleged altercation with Downing, which has added to City’s bemusement at Everton demanding an explanation.

Downing, however, is said to be demanding an apology from the chief executive and is prepared otherwise to take his grievance to the highest level at City by complaining to Sheikh Mansour, the club’s billionaire owner.

Both Everton and City are confident they have at least 20 witnesses who can corroborate their view of the episode. Ian Ross, Everton’s head of media, told the Guardian: “I can confirm that I have written to Mr Cook asking for his observations regarding the incident.”

Cook, a former Nike executive before he joined City, has developed a habit of occasionally wandering off-record. He infamously claimed that Milan had “bottled it” when the deal to take Kaka to Eastlands fell through in January 2009.

At a 60th anniversary dinner for the Official Supporters Club last November Cook inducted the former City favourite, Uwe Rösler, to the club’s hall of fame by saying: “I’d like to welcome Uwe Rösler into the Manchester United Hall of Fame”, which caused watching fans at the gala dinner to boo him furiously.

I do. What used Mussolini say - uno doce, uno voce. A lot of those in authority in whatever sphere abide by those principles. Maybe not in Socialist party land though.

A big day ahead today, I’m heading into town to watch the Arsenal game, a pain that it’s not on Setanta/Sky/ESPN meaning I actually have to leave the house this weekend. Predictions for the day:

  • Villa to beat Chelsea
  • Bolton to beat Man Utd (Jack Wilshere grabbing a late winner)
  • Arsenal to beat Bolton with an Eduardo hatrick

Thats some serious wishful thinking there Tinnion.

Chelsea to win, Arsenal to draw and Utd to win (Rooney Pen 90).

Arsenal are playing Birmingham no?

Chelsea taking Villa to pieces. 4-1 up, Lampard hat-trick. All this wit drogba on the bench. Villa’s season continuing to implode. 5-1 now

West Ham losing at home to Stoke… in trouble. Wolves still drawing against Everton.

Hull winning at home to Fulham. Will be level on points with West Ham if results stay as they are. The two lads who own the Hammers are a disaster, talking them into relegation.

Arsenal 1-0 up :frowning:

Chelsea 6-1 now

they hardly have have anything to do with it in fairness.

Ferguson playing a shite team before Tuesday night. No Rooney. No Chance. :frowning:

Could regret it, Chelsea and Arsenal having big wins (possibly) today. If Arsenal win its a super result, tough place to go. If United don’t win it could cost them.

Frank Lampard having a chat about formations to Carlo seems to have worked out.

Villa could miss out on Europa League this is such a set back, i’ll be taking all players off my fantasy team.

Edit; Kevin Phillips, the cunt, has cost me money. Fuuuuuuuuuuck.

That’s very poor from Arsenal letting a lead slip late on like that.

7-1 for Chelsea in the end.

Another good point for Wolves and the win for Hull will have West Ham and Burnley in big trouble.

Super Kev Philips.

These last two results are really padding up Chelsea’s goal difference but that’s pathetic from Aston Villa. The BBC live updates say Almunia was shocking for the Birmingham equaliser.

O’Neill out, that is all.

Villa what a team of cunts. They won 1.0 at Old Trafford.
