But that would make him a total cunt. Oh, wait a minuteā¦
The commentator on the Reading v Manchester United match mentioned that it was only the third time in Barclays Premier Leagueā¢ history that a first half had produced seven goals. Has anybody worked out what the other two are? I havenāt.
There have been a few hammerings. United vs Ipswich 1995, United vs Forest 1999.
Could have been from a high scoring game on both sides too. Good question though. Maybe MOTD will produce the answer

Neither of the above are the games involved. Utd were 3/4-0 up at ht in the Ipswich game. Solskjaer got four as a second half sub in the Forest game.
Portsmouth V Reading ended 7-4. Would say that was one of the games. No idea of what the other one might be.
Blackburn had a 7-2 over West Ham back around 2001
Did Spurs score 9 v Wigan, Defoe bagged 5 the same day?
That was 1997. Not one of the games either. The Portsmouth / Reading game was only 2-1 at HT. Still no idea of what the games were. Was it mentioned on MOTD?

Yes but it was only 1-0 to Spurs at HT. that game holds the record for most goals in one half, 9. Ended 9-1 to Spurs.

Norwich 2 up against Sunderland, Pilkington with the second, well taken too.
Sunderland are awful. OāNeill is such a shit manager.
Sunderland got one back just on half time.
Sunderland are appalling though. Terrible, terrible side.
This replay of the 1992 F.A. Cup semi final ( where John Byrne got the winner) is a truly awful game.
Ive sat down here and attentively watched the first half and have been very disappointed with the fare on offer.
No wonder teams from Holland, Ukraine and Turkey are dominating EPL sides in Europe this season, this is poor, poor stuff, i suppose one could be kind and say it at least is a good example of the ācompetitiveā nature of the EPLā¦
Sunshine in Leith one channel further up, chaps.
+1. He inherited most of his best players with Celtic as well and left the club in a mess. Strachan did a far better job with Celtic.
A strikerless Liverpool 1 up after 17. A cracker from Glen Johnson who is terrorising West Ham any time he gets the ball.
Liverpool have started very brightly
West Ham have put more high balls and crosses into the box in the first 25 minutes than Iāve ever seen from any team.
Half our team has played for West Ham at this stage as Joe Cole Cole replaces Jose Enrique
West Ham 2.1 up now. They have been excellent since I switched it on. Stevie G og.
Everton have scored a late, late equaliser against Tottenham
