Eredivisie 2007/08

Like I mentioned on the betting thread Heerenveen beat Heracles 9-0 today.

Alfonso Alves (touted on here a lot last season) scored 7 goals. :w00t:

Feyenoord on 18 points with PSV and Ajax both on 17 after today’s games.

Shaping up to be as tight as last season.

Here’s the goals from Afonseo Alves:

Still hard to believe nobody tried to sign him over the summer. Last year there were mentions for both him and Eduardo da Silva as prospective buys for clubs and while I think he’d be priced out of Celtic’s range it seems strange that United or someone didn’t buy him. They’re still short one goalscorer since Larsson left and this guy scores buckets of them.

2 more goals for Alves yesterday.

That’s 10 in 4 league games. Surely there’ll be plenty of bids in for him in January.

Huntelaar got the winner for Ajax today. I’m not sure if he’s regressed but he hasn’t been starting for Holland lately and Ajax getting beaten by Slavia Prague in the CL final qualifying round might be counting against him with most of their other players playing at that level. Still think he’s a cracking player though.

Feyernoord v Ajax is live on Setanta Sports 2 now. 909 after 20 odd minutes though Van Bronckhorst just missed a great chance. The two teams are level on top with 24 points (a point ahead of PSV) so it’s a big game.

Non Dutch referee for this game as well in a new innovation from the Dutch FA.

1-0 Feyernoord. Gio from the edge of the box. Nice move.

1-1 now Rommedahl equalised against the run of play.

What’s this 909 business all about?

0-0 not 909 just one key over to the right was where I thought I was. Game finished 2-2 after Feyernoord had missed a penalty as well.
