How many of the Eire squads from back in the day would have grown up supporting England?

Only 7 of the Eire squad that went to Euros in Germany in 1988 were born in Eire. 16 of the 22 man Eire squad than went to the 1990 World Cup were born in England/Scotland/Wales. Think it was still 15 from 22 born in Britain for the 1994 World Cup.

Because there isn’t one of them good enough to play for any decent European team who would pay them the wages they are getting domestically. Sadly the only player from our little group of islands good enough is Bale. Always been the case, you wouldn’t need too many hands to count the players who were good enough.

Riggins supports an international rugby team that consists of South Africans, New Zealanders and Australians who are merely economic migrants on the island of Ireland for three years.
