Those six points against Georgia were as important as the results against the Germans. Scotlandās defeat in Tbilsi killed them and left us back in.
If we do finish third - which still looks most likely - are we likely to be seeded for the playoff draw and receive a more favourable play off opponent? Who would we need to win or lose in the final matches in the other groups to be sure of a seeding?
My head is fried with all the permutations.
Anyway if we can beat Germany we can beat Poland. Even away.
Personally I think the Poles will open us up at will. The bodies will be extremely sore. That game will have taken so much out of them, especially for a few players who are not use to 90 minutes of football. I hope Iām wrong but reckon we will be bet by at least 2. I would have happily taken a playoff spot 3 games ago. Great heart shown by all involved by the last few games.
Iām speculating that Poland expended a lot of energy chasing their late draw in Scotland and we have fresh options in Whelan, McClean and maybe Coleman and Wilson too. Long only had half an hour last night and the great Robbie Keane will be primed also.

hi dodgy keeper. this query should have been raised in the permutations thread but ill answer it here anyway. you shouldnt exert yourself with these permutations, thats my job as the official go to guy. let me answer it this way: if well placed teams lost in the final sets of games it certainly doesnt harm our chances of a seeding.
