I had one can of Hop House lager during that first half so am now half cut, but is it not obvious that Scotlaand have a man advantage in midfield and England need to go to three at the back?

This is exactly like EURO '96 (@Tank).

It seems to happen in lots of the matches at this tournament. The bottom clock when it comes up is usually ahead of the one on the top left.

Has been for every single match for some reason.

I’d say this England team are like Mayo in the sense that they’ll struggle to pull away from supposedly lesser teams (Derry, Fermanagh, Kildare etc.) but they can lift it then against the very top sides.

They could still win this game but Southgate is a weak general.

Henderson and Maguire should never have been selected in the squad. The midfield balance is all wrong too.

Tierney is outstanding - what a player. Stephen O’Donnell having a really good game after his nightmare the other day too. Scotland generally playing well.

England will score shortly after half-time. You just know it.

That England team could play Italy for 6 hours before they’d score

Declan Rice is a poor man’s Vinny Sideways. Get Grealish and Bellingham on ffs. Sterling is also strolling around the place, surely Sancho is a better option. Southgate is a cowardly rule by committee type fellow, he has a trememdous bunch at it his disposal here and playing turgid sideways stuff.

RTE praise here for Billy Gilmour at odds with the TFK analysis of that 1st half.

He’s a Rangers man so lads see what they want to see. He played like Jim Baxter in that first half.

Duff had a right go at @ChairmanDan at the end

Gilmour was excellent. England were intent on trying to stop Tierney and Robertson linking up directly (only really happened for O’Donnell’s effort) but Gilmour has benefitted from the extra space and sprayed the ball around really well. He’s also been niggly as fuck in a good way.

Covid doesn’t differentiate between top and bottom match clocks.

Jim Baxter was a left winger you spoofer

Gilmour is tidy but looks to struggling a bit with his pace and power.

He grew into it, was puffing badly the first 25 mins though

McTominay all over the shop.

Kane was lethargic there
