A game of paradoxes. The game being being played on Spain’s terms suits Italy. Italy look more dangerous in attack and Spain look toothless in attack, Spain tonight are like a deluxe version of their performances against Sweden and Poland. If Spain sat back a bit, they might be more likely to score. As it is, they look very unlikely to pick Italy apart. 0-0 and penalties is a live possibility. That Italian midfield is being absolutely run through though.
Italy need to keep it top and get it early in behind for Immobile. It will become a game of whether Italy can withstand Spanish possession or whether Italy can pick them off on the break.
I’m trying to think of something Mancini can do to wrestle back control of midfield.
