Coady, White and Godfrey on the pitch there finishing up. Christ above.

Saves Southgate the hassle now.

I see Rabiot is likely to start for France in this. That’s a potential weak link, the most of dubious character player of the generation

Sensi will miss out for Italy with injury. Pessina will replace him in the squad.

Benzema facilitated the blackmail of his team mate. His character might be slightly more dubious

Benzema is a winner on the pitch

How do I know he isn’t blackmailing you into saying that?

Are you a midget?

Did you have sex with a prostitute?

Then it was not Benzema

I ended up with France beating Portugal in the final. England will have a very tough round of 16 game.

England beating France Spain and the Netherlands? Not a hope.

You disagree with my prediction about a tournament that hasn’t happened yet. This is soul destroying.

No. I VEHEMENTLY disagree with it. And it alarms me to think you could predict that as you are a sharp sporting analyst.

I accept that your VEHEMENT disagreement with my prediction is sincere and honestly held.

Italy side for the friendly tonight and it looks more or less like the first choice, Chiesa coming in for Berardi the only change I foresee.

Think that defensive partnership could cost Italy. They are both past their best and I think Toloi, Acerbi and Bastoni are all now better options.

Locatelli looks like he will be given the nod until Verratti is fit again.

Is Verratti out for long? He’s key.

I’m trying to remember the last time England beat anyone worthwhile in a tournament. Argentina in the groups in 02 maybe?

Should be back for the knockout stages should Italy get there.

Hard to see Bonnucci and Chiellini being able to play every 3 days alright.

They must be pushing 40 now?

Bonucci probably has another few years left but Chiellini is done and might actually retire after this though will probably stay around next year with Allegri back.

Chiellini turns 37 in August and did his ACL last year.

Bonucci just gone 34.

Acerbi is 33 but playing the best football of his career. Toloi is 30 and Bastoni is the baby at 22.

Romagnoli would probably be there if he didn’t have a big dip in form this season and Mancini was unlucky to be dropped, thought he would make it ahead of Toloi.
