Nearly as good as grosso in 2006
Theyâll grow into it
Ouch, last kick of the game.
Italians are never beat
Thatâs cruel on Croatia.
Calafiori (spelling?) is the truth.
Calafiori looks like some player. Classy.
mental
Some finish.
Probably a heavy touch that forced him to lay it off, but he looks like heâll be there for a decade plus
Calafirori is the best defender in the world
Grazie
An unfortunate own goal the last night against Spain but extraordinary composure there to create the opening.
Love him already
Italy had enough chances to get that goal but they will struggle to go further because they lack a clinical edge in the final third.
They have a decent defence as they usually do and their deeper midfielders are good but Chiesa is the only player in the final third that would get anywhere near the other top teams, I think.
Hahaha
Steve Clarke can at least afford himself a smug pat on the back as Croatiaâs result tonight means Scotland almost certainly wouldnât have made it through had they got the draw last night.
What a weird cunt
The Italians are divils!
And he isnât quite as good since the injuries. Youâd be going back to the mid-noughties to when Italy last had top forwards really. Crazy. Capello made an interesting point in the paper, players have great tactical acumen there and the lads are all technically competent, but there isnât enough emphasis on encouraging inventiveness on the ball. Bastoni and Calafiori look serious prospects at the back though. Jorjinho is still very brave and will take the ball anywhere, Barella is powerful but they are short up top. Scamacca is their best chance Iâd say, but he needs a rocket up his hole.
He looked like some player tonight on the ball. A big like the big Croatian fella at City but more athletic.
