Lovely piece from BBC Scotland, Chief Features Writer, Tom English there setting the scene in Andalusia amongst the 100,000+ travelling Teddy Bears.
They seem like alright sorts. I’ll cheer for them. I have no real interest in Scottish soccer.
I know I’m out of step with the forum but I hope Frankfurt win because I hate Rangers and their fans are cunts.
Frankfurt say they have no truck with Nazis and they demonstrated this with their sacking of manager Adolf Hutter last year.
It’s a very wet day where I am, much like it was on May 21st, 2003, the last time one of the Old Firm played a UEFA Cup/Europa League final in Seville.
I hope that’s not a bad omen.
The Teddy Bears marked their centenary in 1972 with their previous European success, a Cup Winners Cup Final win over Dynamo Moscow on Spanish soil.
Is it destiny that their 150th anniversary will be marked with European success in Spain again?
We might find out which is the one true religion tonight. Then again we might not.
John Calvin believed in predestination, but that appears to clash with other branches of Protestantism which placed great emphasis on free will and a very hard work ethic.
Of course Rangers is a non-sectarian club and has Catholics, Muslims and Orthodox religionists on the books.
I think these different belief systems will all bring something valuable to the cause.
Seems like a great day altogether.
This is the 2022 UEFA Cup Final thread, kid. Glasgow Celtic didn’t make it.
Fuck Sevco. Hope Frankfurt stuff the cunts.
A decent achievement for a club barely 10 years old to reach a European Final.
The club you are referring to above were liquidated in 2012 mate.
He’s a Limerick man isn’t he Dan?
Massive night for Ewan
Eintracht are on the move

Yes, Tom English is from Limerick. Big Limerick hurling man, I believe.
Tom has eeked out a decent career in Scotland for himself. From a Rubby correspondent in Ireland to top dog in Scotland. I never knew he was a hurling man. Great see him keep hold of some heritage … When you hear Corks Graham Norton talking about us and we in reference to the UK its refreshing to see some emigrants retain some Irish identity.
Tom is a good journalist and writer. Read his book there recently on the 1990 Calcutta Cup/Grand Slam decider. It’s a very good read.
