Some of the nicest meals I’ve ever eaten were in that part of Italy.
In a hotel or an apartment.
I knew when writing that, that some harmless aul crater would come back with a ’ hotel or apartment ’ type quip … I thought about editing it but said i’d leave the misfortune have his moment.

We did about 4 nights here at the Villa Rosa Hotel in Desenzano. Lovely hotel and a nice walk along the water into town and there are loads of decent restaurants in Desenzano.
We then did a few nights across the other side of the lake here in Hotel du Lac. Stunning location. We cycled the 8km or so in the evenings along the lake into Melcesine. Melcesine is a class town. Packed with holiday makers but everywhere in Lake Garda is. There is a good buzz there…loads of people grab pizza and bring it down by the lake at sunset, etc. Seriously relaxing.
Finished up with 2 nights in Verona which was quality also.
A car is essential for Lake Garda unless you are staying in the one place for the trip and/or on a package deal where an airport pick up is part of the deal.
A wonderful spot in fairness and herself’s favourite holiday.
I can also help with Sardinia buddy. To my shame, I’ve yet to make it to Tuscany.
Tuscany is a smashing spot and the only part of Italy I have hitherto visited
Abruzzo/Puglia or over near Pescara.
If you get the chance to the Tremiti islands, go.

And every one of them sober
I know. I thought that as well. A Paddy would be so socially awkward there sober they’d have to down porter beforehand . Well to tolerate that shit music you’d need to be plastered. Italians eh! All fur coat and no nickers
Theyve a desperate problem with the vino
