I am releasing the following statement on behalf of thefreekick.com management team:
‘Arising out of recent breaches of team discipline farmerinthecity attended a meeting with club officials in Mulligan’s last night. Management sought explanations from farmer in relation to these incidents and are now retiring to consider what further action, if any, to take against him. The management will revert with their decision in due course and will be making no additional public comments about the matter until then.’
Can I just clarify that we will not be making any private comments on the issue either. I’ve received numerous PMs from interested parties this morning but the matter is not up for discussion.
In the interests of transparency the judgement against Farmer has been made public.
Having considered the seriousness of the transgression by Farmer and any mitigating circumstances (repentant attitude, promises of improved future behaviour) it has been unanimously agreed to impose the following sanctions of Farmerinthecity:
A three match suspension
A fine of 20,000 Swiss Francs
Farmer has entered into a bond of good behaviour and as a result the suspension and 19,990 Swiss Francs of the monetary fine have been suspended for a period of one year pending the player’s compliance with these terms.
This is crazy stuff. A witch-hunt against a good honest pro while the likes of Tinnion gets away with his shameful performance on the pitch just because he has a high profile. I missed one game due to mental fatigue, turned up last week despite the Liverpool game, played a stormer and this is how I am treated.
