Feeling a bit sick

A work colleague of mine says he hasn’t been sick in over two years and swears it’s because he’s going for a 5-10 minute dip in the sea on a near daily basis during the school year. Something about the salt concentration in the sea.

There is no medical evidence for cold water boosting your immune system but at the same time I’d say it does no harm and definitely lifts your energy and energy etc. So that can probably help fight off sickness too

The benefits of cold water are largely psychological , a form of built up resilience … it does have some affect on inflammation and stress signal to the body also…overall, it boosts mood and builds a bit of mental resilience and you know what they say, the first yard is in your head.

You’ve been travelling like a mad man for the past month haven’t you? Prob catching up with you

Maybe. In Kyoto now and can’t leave the hotel

is that protocol?

No. Softness

Sleep

Has your man Wim Hof not come up with some proof for the cold water being good for you? I’ve found similar if I’m getting in the sea for a swim regularly during the winter I’d never get sick.

I’d take take the medical science world’s view really over what someone like Wim would say.
Often though I’d say it’s hard to disagree that cold water does help with lots of things. It definitely feels that it helps your boost immume system for colds and flu’s etc.

Happy to trust a witch doctor when it aligns with your world view?

I’ve had a cold shower pretty much every day since first hearing wim interviewed on rogan. You should see the length of my telomeres

My Mam suffers from this yoke. An awful feck of a thing. Comes in spells.

Ropey is more for the one you get when you turn your head quickly. I got a ringing in the ears the other night in Seoul and had it for a day. Then it went away and now, about a week later I got it again. It’s easing up anyway.

I only ever had it once before and it lasted over a week. Was a terrible experience.

This time is not as bad as that but it’s frustrating on holidays and I couldn’t really walk around with it

One of the moat overrated filums ever, imho. Hours of drudgery

You have my sympathies mate.

My Mam would get an intense spell lasting a few hours. Constant vomiting, unable to stand up, basically in bits.

She often has to get an injection to settle the vomitting which usually settles everything eventually,

No I’m nowhere near as bad as that. Much better today. Finally properly able to get out and about here.
