She’s never been a good vote getter and Malcolm polled well in European elections. He’ll probably win by-election. Holding onto seat in general election will be a challenge though. She’s correct when she refers to the geographical imbalance if Malcolm wins, which will be hard to maintain in a general election.
I think you are extremely hard on him them, considering the bizarre geographical sense of Ireland South he polled brilliantly in the European Elections and came across as a good sort in debates.
This seems an absolute no brainer and that lady seems a complete simpleton.

He polled respectably alright, and it was a surprise he was on the ticket to begin with as he had little if any profile outside of Wexford. He’s been trying and failing to get elected as a TD for around 15 years.
It’s only dawned on me why Lisa McDonald doesn’t use her married name, Simpson.

She seems to be pulling a Mary Mitchell O’Conner. She was promoted above her station because she was woman and then demoted because she was shit. She has spent her time in her denoted position promoting mandated gender appointments because she seems to think she was sacked for being a woman.
She’ll mop up most of the votes in the New Ross area. A good few local FFers I was chatting to during the summer were saying they’d vite for her rather than someone from the north of the County.
I reckon this is why Byrne was so vociferous in his support of Michael Sheehan as a candidate for the General Election. They know Lisa is dead in the water, Murphy will take a lot of Rosslare votes from her. Sheehan won’t pick up much outside of the town though.
It would be only wonderful if Paul Kehoe fails to win a seat next time out.

They did the same running Aoife Byrne last time out which was nuts. No profile in politics other than being her Dad’s daughter.
