That was a bloody good game of football, two intelligent teams with no compunction about testing the limits of the rules. Plenty of nasty little incidents.
But there’s a big shift here. An Australian team learning that guts and glory and heart and country is actually complete bollocks in a WC and game management, smarts and intelligence is what gets you through.

She’s unreal. She reminds me of a great snooker player. Every touch of the ball she sizes the situation up and takes the correct option. She’s the silkiest women’s football player I’ve ever seen, her skill level is so far ahead of other players.
I think there’s a slight problem with her positioning in the team though, she might be better off in a deep lying Luka Modric type playmaker role to get her into the game more. When she does get on the ball she’s surgical.
I have great time for Caitlin Foorde up front. She reminds me of John Aldridge for Ireland. She’s tireless and has the moral courage and honesty of effort in effort you need in these games. A great battler.
