In a big pink fairy costume which they then discarded.
I think something went wrong with Tadhg’s fiddle microphone (is there such a thing?) in the second half of the performance and we couldn’t hear it.

Yeah I caught the end of it. I thought I actually had an idea who it was but it turns out there must be two cross dressing Tadhg’s from Carlow.
I think the truth about the 12th has finally dawned on the tans. It’s big, it’s noisy, there’s flegs, more flutes than you could bang a drum at, more drums than you blow a flute at, it’s visceral, its got mega bonfires, there’s more hate than you could shake a stick at.
But it’s just no craic. None. Quite the opposite. Its actually totally fucking miserable, and shameful.

I was putting me stuff in the car about 4pm yesterday as I was about to travel from Galway to Dublin and what happened, as it usually does, is I heard the voices of two random Americans from behind the car beckoning me. They were walking down my street in a housing estate looking for a “hotel”. I hadn’t the heart to tell them their accommodation wasn’t a hotel at all, but I gave them directions. They were relatives of the below fella, and had just spent the previous week in Sligo around his home place.

Jim is a complete wind up merchant. The double act between Jim and Stephen Nolan on the Nolan radio show is great entertainment.
It was masterful how Jim took down the Paisley dynasty in North Antrim.

He’s at this flirting with notions of racial purity craic all the time. Catholics/irish are dirty, thuggish, tainted etc. He’s a nasty throwback to the paisley of the early 70s.

Mervyn loves his music, of any description once there’s a few flutes involved.
Martin Hayes was on the radio there. I’d love it if he collaborated with the Ballykeel Conservative Flute Band. I’d say it would be something very special.
Hopefully this Fleadh can be the start of a whole new genre of collaboration between traditional Irish and traditional Ulster music.
