Macs preference for honesty and reality is even more on show here. Take off the south wexford tinted glasses count.
South Wexford tinted glasses my hole, I detest Gusserane.
I thought Flynn had a great year at wing back. Sadly we had to move him to midfield for the tipp where his late runs from defence were sorely missed.
From those nominated, i would go:
Goalkeepers: David Clarke (Mayo).
Full Backs: Keith Higgins (Mayo); Neil McGee (Donegal); Rory O’Carroll (Dublin).
Half backs: Frank McGlynn (Donegal); Karl Lacey (Donegal); Emmet Bolton (Kildare).
Midfielders: Neil Gallagher (Donegal); Aidan O’Shea (Mayo).
Half Forwards: Kevin McLoughlin (Mayo); Alan Dillon (Mayo); Mark McHugh (Donegal).
Full forwards: Colm McFadden (Donegal); Michael Murphy (Donegal); Colm O’Neill (Cork).

Aidan Walsh’s inclusion and Kevin McLouglin exclusion baffles me.
Even O’Shea from Mayo deserved it ahead of Adian Walsh i thought too.
Some full forward line all the same, delighted to see Keith Higgins winning an All Star too.
dont think vaughan had a good semi final or final to be honest lads.
Is Lee Keegan any good, lads? Mayo are a loser county and I’ve no respect for them so I don’t particularly scrutinise/concentrate on their games and some of their players blend into each other. I’d have most of that team alright though. Think O’Se or Kavanagh are more deserving of a midfield place than O’Shea.
:strokechin:
I wouldn’t have picked either Gallagher or Walsh for a midfield spot. Rory Kavanagh was probably the best midfielder all year. Paul Flynn instead of Kevin McLoughlin is another poor decision and is tokenism for Dublin winning a Leinster title.
Apologies for my internet error - I meant to say ‘Walsh’ rather than ‘O’Shea’.
utter bollox…Flynn has managed to go up a gear on last year and has been outstanding in all competitions this year…well deserved…
How embarrassing
Barry Moran is more deserving than Walsh, not O Shea. I’d say Quigley is, but I’d be accused of bias, so I will, and you can.
Paul Flynn had a good year and impressed me greatly, but better than McLoughlin or more influential? Hardly.
totally different types of players…flynn is far more of a an all round footballer…much stronger on the ball, much better fielder, better ball winner , better long range point taker…Mcloughlin might have a better eye for goal and is usually seen at his best when games open up…Flynn is more influential in my opinion as he has a lot wider range of skills…
Agree about Barry Moran…
Can’t believe Rory Kavanagh did not get one, I’m also still shocked Conor Gormley wasn’t even nominated.
