It really is a great pity that Giggs never got the opportunity to shine at the highest level in international football. He is often overlooked when discussing the likes of Zidane, Figo, Kilbane, Del Piero etc over the last 20 years or so, but he truly is one of the great players of the last quarter century.

I think he relatively solid form over the past 3 or 4 years has probably helped but Giggs was pretty average for the most of the last decade
Giggs was one of the most exciting attacking players in Europe throughout the nineties but always seemed to get injured when in a good run of form which people tend to forget due to his longevity. He has been solid to very good since then bar around 06-08 when he went through a bad run of form. He wouldn’t have been one of the greats though although he is a United great.
