Nice idea but poor execution
Leather sole will be a disaster unless you go down road of galoshes like I suggested
A Clarks version is probably nicer or kurt Geiger
A good rule of thumb is try and stick to buying shoes from companies that don’t also make tshirts unless you go very high end

Thanks mate. I’m a huge fan of leather soles, so it’s more to do with the look (which you’ve given the nod of approval to with your reference to nice idea). I’ve a pair of desert boots I’ve had for 8 or 9 years. Time for an upgrade! Plus, I’ve negotiated these down to €30. This is live and direct from the shoe shop, btw.

That’s the plan bro. I have a pair of handmade leather soled brogues for years, and all I do is get them re-soled every so often at the local cobblers.

That’s bizarre, I’ve lost my north face rain coat and am off to town very soon to buy a new one, probably will stick with north face but I’ll have a look at a few others.
