@binkybarnes you know anything about this case.?

Trying to use drink to victim blame is vile, a 70 year old man was heading home with a bit of grub and some scumbag decided to use his head as a punching bag(kick in this case) for some sick form of entertainment. Should be minimum 20 years with no early release. 5 years is an insult to that man & his family.

And the unproven allegations he supposedly spat at him (witnesses said he was wearing a face mask) …
or said hed bend him over…
And that it was self defence…

All bollox. I hope the DPP appeal

It reminded me straight away of this case which was rightfully reviewed and additional time was added. What the fuck are these judges at?

The judge noted the “compassionate” view of McCaughley’s closest relative, his sister, who said she didn’t want to see anyone jailed for his death, but she said this was a serious offence.

Probably a factor in the length of sentence

Who cares what the sister says. I don’t want this animal on the streets in 5 years just because she’s a bit Christian or whatever.

Good man. Make it all about yourself.

These mitigating facitors can be gas sometimes.

Sean McGovern for instance.

Pleading guilty to directing organised crime including murders but he was a promising footballer in his younger years.

No more than what was in the papers. Sad stuff.

Well done on not falling into his cunning trap.

Congratulations, you oul dawg

Not about me, but society. Just because the sister doesn’t want him jailed shouldn’t mean he gets off light enough.

Legal and Ethical Issues

  • Coercion and Threats: Abusers or offenders may use emotional blackmail, threats, or pressure to force the bereaved to ask for leniency, creating a scenario where the victim’s family is further traumatized.
  • Abuse of Religious Doctrine: Christian concepts of forgiveness and mercy can be manipulated by abusers to silence victims, demanding they “forgive and forget” or forego reporting crimes, a tactic described as “forced forgiveness”.
  • Undermining Justice: When family members are coerced into asking for a lighter sentence, it can obscure the true severity of the crime and prevent the court from receiving an accurate picture of the harm caused.
  • Undue Leniency Appeals: If a sentence is found to be “unduly lenient” due to a manipulated plea, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) can appeal it.

It looks like we have another Adam Johnson in Alex Jimenez from Bournemouth.

The length of add breaks during soccer matches.

God forbid you’d come in from your busy life to watch the half time highlights. Well I have news for you. There is none any more.
