He might make the Limerick team so next year

Why? His role is well defined … he’s there to finish teams off…

Be kind of difficult to make it back onto the county side when he will be off contesting another AI club final.

if Na Piarsaigh get to the final, Peter Casey will have played in 4 AI finals in 2 years. 21’s, Club, Senior, Club. 5 if you include the replay in the club.

That’s some going.

Well he certainly will talk .

Your not really good at counting are you. He’s played in two 21s finals, two club all Ireland’s, one minor all Ireland and one senior all ireland.

in the last 2 years? since 2017?

Well that’s not that impressive at all so. The vast majority of that Clare team played in 3 all Ireland’s in 3 weeks.

sure that’s ideal. Rattle them all off out of the way in one go.

Casey has been a full time hurler between club and county since 2017, no break hardly.

He was out injured between March or whenever the club final was and maybe the end of June. I don’t think he played a game but maybe some bit of training.

you’re an argumentative cunt.

Don’t ever change

I’m merely pointing out simple facts. He’d a ten week break or so in 2018.

Circumstances meant it naturally wasn’t highlighted, but Dowling had a poor All Ireland Final cameo. HE GOT A GOAL, I hear you scream. That was essentially Adrian Tuohy, who’d had a bit of a nightmare in truth, coughing up the ball 25 yards out and allowing Peter Casey to feed Dowling for a tap in.

Dowling barely touched the ball otherwise in his 20-25 minutes on the field. He might have played a good ball for the Flanagan chance, or that may have been someone else. Maybe one of the Limerick posters who’s watched the game back 10-15 times could clarify? I think that was before he came on actually.

Limerick were shit in that last part of the match and collapsed over the line, not helped by the half forward line completely going out of the game. It allowed Galway to get well on top and feed “soft ball Joe” in space to chip away and reduce the gap.

Overall it was one of the worst All Ireland Finals ever, definitely the worst of the semi-professional era.

As if we give a shit.

Jesus, relax. I never claimed or presumed that you’d be bothered by winning the worst All Ireland Final in a generation.

It was just that when Limerick blazed 4 wides in the first 3 minutes and Galway couldn’t get the ball off them I immediately regretted accepting the free final ticket. It’s different for those from competing counties obviously, even when the standard is abysmal.

The same lad got very excited when Davy led Wexford to a league win over a half fit semi dis-interested Kilkenny team.
I’d just give ould @Bandage a pat on the back and thank him for his observations while giving him not a second thought but pity.

I thought whelan was jaded all year tbh.

the level of cunt off this post is through the roof.

Some fella took pity on you being from a weaker county and gave you a ticket to the greatest show on earth and you have the temerity to talk about the standard.

Sure what would you know about hurling standards? Ye’ve the worst style of hurling in the game.

*another mention of “semi-professional” by a Wexican, who have the only full time professional in the game

I agree by and large on Dowling, not his fault entirely as the game had very much swung Galway’s way for most of his time on the field. The goal however was vital. I don’t think anyone really believes Dowling deserves an all star, bar littlewoods obviously.

On your other point it depends on when you start your “era” but it wasn’t even the worst all Ireland final with Limerick in it over the period and Kilkenny’s absolute annihilation of Waterford the following year was the by far and away the worst all Ireland final of recent times.
