Not that it means a whole pile this early but interesting all the same to see Boylesports have a lot of County Championship Odds up for 2025 already and the National Leagues too.
They really seem to have upped their game in recent times and generally have their prices up first during the week now for games compared to PP.
They really pushed the General Election too recently so they look to be really targeting the Irish market
Slaughtneil look a great bet against sarsfields on Sunday at 13/8. Hard to see where bookies are getting these odds considering slaughtneils performances at this stage. OK Sars were brilliant against ballygunner but would you bank on them repeating that performance when the expectation is on them to win.
Also ballinascreen on the junior semi might be worth a fiver. Put up a big score in the ulster final. Up against a Russell rovers team who I don’t think are all ireland winning material
I was intrigued by the Derry teams showing in the ulster club so I did a bit of background research.
The 2024 Derry hurling championship was 8 teams with the top 4 going into the senior semi finals. The winners played in the senior final but here’s where it gets complicated, the losers played in the “intermediate” final. This was Swatragh.
The “junior” semi finalists are team 5-8 in the senior championship so in reality Ballinascreen are team #5 in Derry.
Slaughtneil are way ahead of the rest up there but there isn’t much in it after that so Ballinascreen could be very good and are putting up huge scores albeit against questionable teams.
My cork contacts tell me Russel rovers are very strong.
I’m not saying they can’t win but I would say it is priced correctly. Good games to watch can often fog judgement. Munster champions who have bet the very short favs. Couldn’t be priced any other way.
Just thought the odds would be closer. With the way this championship is going nothing would be a surprise. If it comes down to a battle I could see slaughtneil winning.
