Last minute win. Some shout
First week of the championship and from a betting perspective you’d think it would be an opportunity to make cash but it’s not always the case. Bookies are sharper on prices with increased interest from the general public and teams are generally at full strength meaning less individual mis matches. A prime example is Kilkenny team named this weekend compared to league team.
Personally, I’m better at focusing on a game or two than a wide range of games so approach with caution.
I’m not really sold in any of the big 3 games although I’d prob lean to bets on Tipp -4 and Clare -6 if I had to bet something.
That cork team looks decent but I don’t like the messing they’ve done with Joyce, Downey, Tim o Mahoney and Fitzgibbon.
For all his qualities TOC is not a rolls Royce like fitzgibbon and Buckley/walsh are debutants.
I’ll prob play Dublin -9,-11, -15 today. Offaly league form has been brutal and although they’ve a few bodies back it’s hard to see them competing.
I’ve 1.5pts across the markets.
Another angle to play is goals on Dublin if your that way inclined.
All of these Munster SHC games have been shootouts in recent years, the lines are 52.5 in Leinster matches & 53.5 in Clare v Waterford. 56.5 in Tipp v cork seems high.
I’ll prob go in on unders if the weather is not 100%,
Really you can’t judge these until ten mins before the off.
The value on them players overs bets is limited.
Shane Bennett over 2.5 @ 15/8 and on the 3.5/4.5/5.5/6.5 is something I’ve 1pt on.
The word is he will be hitting some long range frees, he is a fierce selfish player and will get 3 to 5 shots off every game on his left side striking down the wing.
I’m actually down a nice bit over the years backing Jake Morris 2/3+ goals but I have to persevere as long as he’s playing well. Would love to see him one on one inside at times but we need him around the middle too much. 0.5pts.
Finally I like Galway -7 now (half time currently they are up by 5 with a gale in the second half)
Thank you
I can’t see Niall O’Farrell points priced up with 365 or PP - do Boyles have it?
No dice.
What is the MotM double @Watchyourtoes?
I went with Diarmuid Ryan & Jake Morris today
Cork and over 57.5
Did you win?
Clare 13/8 vs Tipp in 20s tomorrow is a small bit long. Both teams are assured of at least a semi final already. I’d be stunned if O Donoghue plays for Tipp, not sure if they’ll hold Tobin for the seniors. Clare look to be finally finding our best 15 and I think we’ll be better suited to playing in Thurles versus in Sixmilebridge. Clare are pretty light in bodies at the back though, the starting back 6 will have to maintain their level of performance they had in first 2 games for this to win. I think this is pretty 50/50 and getting that at 13/8 is good value
I like the look of Wexford -7 at home to Kildare in the u20 tonight.
Wexford got well beaten by Galway in a monsoon but Aaron Niland hit a hat trick.
They then drew with Kilkenny in an even contest.
Kildare lost by 13 to Galway minus Rabbite & Niland.
They kept Kilkenny to 9.
Both of these games were played in Hawkfield with horrendous cross winds in both games.
The totals in both games reflected this with a total of 29 & 31.
It’s a lovely day out today which should increase the score.
Also Wexford expect Galway to beat KK in the other game and could overtake KK on score difference if they can keep the foot on the peddle.
Obviously Wexford are not Tipp or Galway and generally don’t do this to teams but -7 is one they should cover.
1.5 pts single.
Wouldn’t put anyone off Dublin -6 v Offaly in a double with Wexford.
Dublin beat Laois by 8 the last day out but played 35 mins with only 14 men and drove a hape of wides in the first 25.
Offaly were blessed to beat Laois by 1 and only defeated Meath by 4.
Dublin beat Meath by 14.
0.5pts.
There’s an awful wind out today.
It’s warm enough though.
First evening in the garden without a fleece. ![]()
not really
Dublin 11 up with 25 to go with wind behind them.
Dublin winning by 20 time almost up. Wexford winni g by 8 after 12 mins. Looking promising
Wex 2.16 to 2.6 up at HT
Wexford 4-22 Kildare 2-13. A good shout on that one.
Great calls. Ta
