Robbed, finished a draw. Newcestown were 6 up and dominating but conceded a goal towards ht and they needed that cushion. I’d a double with Newtownshandrum was paying 22/1
In Laois, this weekend sees the 4 senior quarter finals. Don’t see odds for the senior B.
A high “won’t give a fuck about them” factor kicking in this weekend.
Portlaoise 4/11 won’t give a fuck about Killeshin 5/2 and should have enough to win by 4 or 5.
However, the value is Stradbally 4/1 against Courtwood 1/6.
Strad literally won’t give a fuck about what they will regard as minnows who have never beaten them in the senior championship. They will completely expect to win this and were delighted with the quarter final draw. Courtwood on all known form should win but they are nowhere near a 1/6 shot. Can see plenty of small bets coming in on that one from the Little Town.
Port also won’t give a fuck about the neigbours O’Dempseys and will demolish them.
He’s only been limping around the place with an achilles problem since the end of last year. Then rolled his ankle and hobbled off after half time last week. Looking at him go off you’d say he’d have no chance of playing this week.
It was mentioned on Tipp FM last Monday that there might even be an intervention from County Board officials/Senior Management this week to pull the pin on things and go away and get surgery now rather than jeopardise his career which he has probably been doing.
The Morris’s are Nenagh to the bone though so that will only be a last resort.
Nenagh were poor last week but conditions were brutal and they should come on for the run. I have a theory that teams who are qualified as group winners after two rounds and then have a dead rubber in round 3/skip the Preliminary Quarter Final are very vulnerable this weekend since its 5 weeks since they played a proper match. Cashel and a few more teams fall into this bucket.
Cashel had a good win over Naas though on the BOICMC in a boutique County Laois venue cc @myboyblue last weekend after Na Fianna unfortunately stood them up for a game cc @binkybarnes
Happening a bit to them in last 2 years, a shadow of their former selves. Gallaghers and Flynns approaching the end. Sars and Holycross the coming teams
Watching this now. Killeshin giving them bags of it in the second-half. Apparently their recent with over Graiguecullen was the first time they’d ever beaten Graigue. Killeshin never got Stephen Attride back after did they?
No, and Steven got married last week in Australia. A savage loss.
Killeshin beat Portlaoise. Portlaoise haven’t have a days luck since they knifed Peadar Fennelly and good enough for them.
The big result of the weekend was this morning with Evan Carroll’s Crettyard sending Graigue into the relegation semi finals where 3 of the 4 will drop to intermediate. Absolute scenes.
Ports interminable stroll to another SFC rolls on as they account for a doughty O Dempseys challenge. Joes beat Ballyroaj Abbey, and Courtwood beat Stradbally. A bit of a changing of the guard in Laois with that final 4 to an extent.
Just don’t ask me for football tips. Port not great today and Joseph’s could well be thinking it’s a great chance to win another title.
Graigue might look the strongest of those 4 teams but their form is dreadful.
