Dual star.
Inter county star.
There’s a Down man down
Wily veteran.
‘Resplendent’
Usually used to describe some shitheap of a provincial ground on a sunny day

As used by Tomas O’Se on tonight’s Sunday Game: “They all have to get up in the morning.”
What is the point of that statement? I’ve never understood it.
Stating that the home ground of a county “is always a tough place to go”, usually in conjunction with a statement that a visiting team will be slight favourites.
ie “Cork will be slight favorites but Wexford Park is always a tough place to go.”
“Roscommon will be hoping to get back on track after their surprise loss to Sligo but Breffni Park is always a tough place to go.”
“Donegal have been the dominant force in Ulster over the past few years but the Athletic Grounds is always a tough place to go.”
“Fortress Aughrim”
Cusack Park, Mullingar, is a tough place to go in the hurling championship according to Anthony Daly too.
Blaming a team being “overtrained” for a shit display.

Calling a fist pass point “the wise option” or “the sensible option”. Usually involves “presence of mind”.
As used by Kevin McStay just now.
“That’s the way to beat the blanket defence.”
‘That was a stonewall penalty’
He used his experience to win that ball
