Sure Padraig Joyce was great at kicking the ball and he coached a negative handpassing game, badly.
Thank God we saved the game.
So apparently players should avoid certain parts of the pitch now, like dark alleys on winter nights. Don’t go down there, it’s dangerous.
Maybe the pitch could be shortened or re-shaped in accordance with NEW Brexit Gaelic football dogma?
Maybe the attacking zone beyond the 45 could be turned into a sort of triangle?
Perhaps players whose surname begins with a vowel could be awarded three points for an over the bar?
The Gaelic football equivalent of the slam dunk.
Seven points for a TURNOVER goal. Some finish by one of the game’s greatest ever ballers.
Experimental hurling rules to ban consecutive hand-passes and allow six steps
Six steps - does this mean we tell young fellas to take 8 steps now as standard?
I’ll have to come up with something new for “drive for 5”.
Why cant we clampdown on both steps and throws?
Two point sidelines cuts is such a stupid rule. Why not two point 65s?
They are supposed to be making it harder to score nor easier
"The 65 has been altered to be taken from the defending 65m line as opposed to the one inside the attacking half of the field, an increase of 10m. "
In croke park it’s an increase of more than 10m. Just make them indirect.
The stupidest thing ever, and this will be played out when you have some tubby cunt of a goalie roweled up a field to start cutting them over.
Jeez I’ve just clicked into the article now - i thought it was just handpassing and steps they were looking at.
What the hell are they at with some of these changes?
Would the penalty corner rule as we see in hockey be applicable to hurling?
It’d be great craic seeing forwards trying to aim for defenders’ feet rather than at the goal.
The whole thing is such a mess that I don’t know what they are recommending for a ‘deliberate’ pull of the jersey, but I can’t think of many instances where a jersey gets pulled by accident.
Fuck off ye useless cunts.
Everyone was saying all the same things about the football rules and they’ve turned out to be the most almost* universally accepted as positive things that have ever been done in Ireland (apart from 4 posters on TFK)
Those are some really positive changes and will turn the game on it’s head.
I don’t think that’s true- I think some people thought a couple of the new rules were a bit gimmicky but, largely, I think people thought they were worth trying.
What a pile of wank
