Great article but calling Denis Taylor charismatic is a bit of a stretch.
He’s fairy boring, cliche laden commentator.

Nicky was subjected to some timber that day alright

He was well able for it. A couple of Waterford lads got badly smashed up early on but nobody was going on about that.

Declan Ryan made shite of shiner ahearne’s hand in the first few mins. The Waterford retaliation was extreme but still.

Declan has a bit of cut about him in a Munster final e.g. Shiner and Jim Cashman

was it on a level on the splitting open of Jim Cashman Cork in a Munster Final

It was a wild pull nowhere near the dropping ball if i remember correctly

Cork are shite Alba. Kerry have a lot to prove. There’s not a peep because no one believes in either team.

And absolutely NO ONE gives a shit about the Munster Championship

Ailbe must be coming from some other dimension where the Munster SFC is a thing.

Whatever hope it had in the public consciousness this year died when Cork lifted the Paddy Power trophy.

Cork and Kerry used to be one of the highlights of the summer until they went and ruined it.

The mass migration of Corkies and their Japanese imperial flags to Killarney for the day.

Largely because Cork are shit though. The super 8s is bollox alright. mad that the rules committee could completely change the way the game is played but not the format. It will be much better next year but provincials will still be meaningless

It had ceased being a highlight long before the split season.

Who ruined it?

As recently as 2015 which is only a year or two back Killarney was packed out on a Saturday evening for a Munster final replay between Cork and Kerry.

The GAA through their own self sabotage have turned it into a zombie zone match.

As @Cheasty said it always broke 30k at least and usually sold out until 2017 while its fallen off a cliff since.

It hasnt been nearly as one-sided a match up since as is being made out either. The last two meetings have been 2 point and 3 point wins for Kerry.

How are the bookies calling that one today, Kerry marginal favourites?

Think you’ll find that’s 10 years m8
