All the scousers have fire sticks
Great article but calling Denis Taylor charismatic is a bit of a stretch.
Heâs fairy boring, cliche laden commentator.
Nicky was subjected to some timber that day alright

Not 1989 anyway. We bet Cork after a replay in 89 and disgraced ourselves in the Munster Final. Kevin Cashman described us as the Black and Tans in Blue and White after the game. We were hammered plenty of times by Cork in three quarter empty stadia in the 70/80/90s but 1989 wasnât one of them.
The Munster final didnât go very well if I remember rightly. A game that was live on television!
It went quite badly. It was the first Munster Final broadcast live and we were lucky it wasnât the last. We had two men sent off (Damien Byrne and Noelle Crowley) and lost 0-27 to 3-9 in an era when conceding 0-27 was absolutely unheard of. Going back on the train I had to listen to Tipp fellas saying things like âI wouldnât beat my cattle the way your fellas bet Nicky Englishâ.

He was well able for it. A couple of Waterford lads got badly smashed up early on but nobody was going on about that.

Declan Ryan made shite of shiner ahearneâs hand in the first few mins. The Waterford retaliation was extreme but still.

Declan has a bit of cut about him in a Munster final e.g. Shiner and Jim Cashman
was it on a level on the splitting open of Jim Cashman Cork in a Munster Final
It was a wild pull nowhere near the dropping ball if i remember correctly
Cork are shite Alba. Kerry have a lot to prove. Thereâs not a peep because no one believes in either team.
And absolutely NO ONE gives a shit about the Munster Championship
Ailbe must be coming from some other dimension where the Munster SFC is a thing.
Whatever hope it had in the public consciousness this year died when Cork lifted the Paddy Power trophy.
Cork and Kerry used to be one of the highlights of the summer until they went and ruined it.

Billy Morgan with his face buried in the Pairc Ui Chaoimh sideline grass, thumping the ground with his fists like Sammy Kuffour.
Larry Tompkins and his sunburnt ankles.
Pat Spillane going postal on Kerry maanger Ogie Moran over his failure to act over Kerry getting thrashed at midfield.
Supporters spilling onto the Killarney sidelines due to overcrowding.
Ronan McCarthy wrestling Maurice Fitzgerald to the ground.
Kieran Donaghy getting sent off for nothing, Anthony Lynch getting sent off for something, and Lynch but not Donaghy gets off a suspension for the replay because Frank.
Noel OâLeary and Paul Galvin wrestling each other to the ground.
Aidan Walsh missing an open goal and falling over himself.
The mass migration of Corkies and their Japanese imperial flags to Killarney for the day.
An Irish summer ritual, gone, abolished, defunct, extinct, dead.
Cork and Kerry used to be one of the highlights of the summer until they went and ruined it.
Well before your time if it ever was.
Largely because Cork are shit though. The super 8s is bollox alright. mad that the rules committee could completely change the way the game is played but not the format. It will be much better next year but provincials will still be meaningless
It had ceased being a highlight long before the split season.
Who ruined it?
It had ceased being a highlight long before the split season.
As recently as 2015 which is only a year or two back Killarney was packed out on a Saturday evening for a Munster final replay between Cork and Kerry.
The GAA through their own self sabotage have turned it into a zombie zone match.
As @Cheasty said it always broke 30k at least and usually sold out until 2017 while its fallen off a cliff since.
It hasnt been nearly as one-sided a match up since as is being made out either. The last two meetings have been 2 point and 3 point wins for Kerry.
How are the bookies calling that one today, Kerry marginal favourites?
As recently as 2015 which is only a year or two back
Think youâll find thatâs 10 years m8
