Padraig Pearses 1-20 Killimor 1-13

Final standings:

  1. Kilnadeema Leitrim 6pts (Into Semi Finals)
  2. Padraig Pearses 2pts (Quarter finals)
  3. Beagh 2pts (Quarter finals)
  4. Killimor 2pts (Relegation)

Killimor 1st year up in Senior B with their 1/4 destiny in their hands, down to 13 men v Pearses 14 and losing by just 4 points get a penalty 90 seconds into added time. Score difference v Beagh’s score difference meant a point would see them thru and Beagh in relegation. Pearses go and score a goal from their puck out, followed by a point. Killimor in relegation and Beagh in 1/4 final.

Killimor lost 3 key players to injury, unavailable today. Hanney, got a run out in the Walsh cup, O’Meara, played Fitzgibbon for NUIG, Keary, AI winning minor captain. It wasn’t to be. Hopefully they can stay up and see what they can achieve with a fully fit squad.

Lot of footballing families have moved into the Athenry area in recent years so a bit more dual focus in the club than before. That said their footballers were relegated to junior last year so neither are going particularly well.

Met a couple of the RHN lads yesterday after a good win over kilbeacanty in kinvara. I couldn’t go due to family issues, but they’ve topped the group.
