Galway - quadruple travails part 2

Now youā€™re talking. Still well in with Toms, has a soft spot for Galway and is well regarded in the west.

Skehill is just what Galway needs, some brutal honesty and self adoration.

Did ye see the new Supermacs ad? Christ, had to get his fat potato head in to it. Weā€™re at nothing until the sponsorship is sorted. The way the camogie players were allegedly treated after the All Ireland win was disgraceful.

Allegedly?

They win an All Ireland and visit a heap of chippers on the way down on the Monday. Eventually they get back to the home of hurling and go to a certain hotel for a few drinks. They ask can they stay the night in the hotel and were told absolutely, weā€™ll even give ye a massive 10% discount. They all up and left and spent their money elsewhere. Allegedly. Allegedly the sponsors have changed since.

10% discount not to be sniffed at

I believe the Laois LGFA stayed for free or well discounted in Pats hotel the night they won the All Ireland intermediate

Heā€™s great to listen to, very enjoyable.

Allegedly, the former sponsors contribution was ā‚¬X.
All social activities and meetings by the camogie board were held in sponsors hotel as part of the deal, which cost the board, allegedly, ā‚¬X plus 25%.
Good bidness for sponsor.

They allegedly almost had a 7 figure annual sponsorship from Medtronic back in 2018 and that rascal allegedly pulled some dirty strokes (and some fair ones like pressuring the financial reports to be disclosed) to protect the sponsorship status qoa.

Allegedly.

Another big deal with Red Bull was on the table around that time too I believe

Thereā€™s a town man involved with Eneos, partner with Kelly. Was willing to give a sizeable contribution but the current sponsor vetoed it.

Makes sense as thereā€™s no other explanation as to why the status quo should be maintained.

Iā€™ve never heard a straight answer but he almost certainly has some serious leverage since at least the Mountain South failure. Heā€™s not even well-liked or respected by the county board, he just has them completely over a barrell for possibly various reasons.

He might not have made much progress but he was always professional and comes across as a decent sort.

Iā€™d love to get his take on Galway hurling in general.

Jesus, I canā€™t describe how much I hate that fat-headed cunt, the sound of his voice on those ads makes my blood boil. He should have been ran out of it years ago but he must have some dirt on lads. Allegedly the only thing our senior footballers get out of him is a few owl fast food vouchers.

He was Colm Callananā€™s understudy in 2017 when Galway actually got over the line wasnā€™t he?

Yeā€™ve great hurlers who canā€™t put club rivalries to one side.

Surely they should give Kenneth Burke the nod.
The rest :face_vomiting:

Id like teej in tbh.
