FT

Kinvara 0-16 Meelick Eyrecourt 1-16

ME finally win the intermediate championship after a lot of close calls. Bit more seasoned than a young Kinvara side.

Good year for Meelick/Eyrecourt Goalie Enda Lawless!

Won Nickey Rackard with Roscommon
Got a Ring/Rackard/Meagher All Star
Won Galway Intermediate

And a very good shot stopper :ok_hand:t2:

M/E deserved their win. They had us rattled in the first half with their ability to win primary possession. We closed in on them in the second half and looked like we were coming good at the right time but M/E swung the momentum back again and finished strong. Niall Fleming is a great bit of stuff.

Rough luck. If I’m correct it wouldn’t have ade any difference to your situation next year?
But I hope your time comes.

Correct and we have youth on our side as it’s a very young team so they’ll hopefully get their chance again but a lot of good teams coming into premier intermediate next year so won’t be as easy get to a final again. (Eg Ahas/Foh, Ballindereen, Kilconeiron etc
)

Yes I figured that, but not many with your age profile maybe?
Ballindereen will be a game.

True.

The last thing you want is a raft of battle-hardened fuckers in their 40’s going around timbering the shit out of promising young 20 something chaps. You’re spot on.

Why coudln’t they play the SHC Sunday 2/3pm? Under lights just looks wrong.

Edit Sounded like a good atmosphere all the same, just watching the highlights now.

John Divilly’s replacement in the works.

I wonder was Padraig wearing his monogrammed sneakers?

Jesus you’d hope so, or else Pep wouldn’t have given him the time of day

Very sad news from north Galway. Donie was Galway minor goalkeeper in 2018 & 2019. Galway narrowly losing the All-Ireland final to Cork after extra time in 2019. Also played U20 with Galway.

It is with deep shock and sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our player and club member Donie Halleran. Donie represented our club with distinction and was goalkeeper on our 2020 Intermediate championship winning team playing alongside his uncle David. We were so proud to watch Donie also represent Galway at minor and U20 level. Donie always had a smile on his face and was loved by all who knew him.

Our hearts go out to Donies family, friends and teammates in this difficult time. We ask everyone to keep one and other in your thoughts and to support each other.

Ar dheis DĂ© go raibh a n-anam, RIP Donie.
