The Galway lads love talking down Clarinbridge and Turloughmore as being watery and wishy washy.
Clarinbridge in particular, have huge potential and a tradition on the national stage. They have Ballygunnerâs number from the 2002 All Ireland Club Semi Final and the 2021 All Ireland Feile Final.
This years rotation sees Munster v Connacht in the All Ireland Semi Final.
Munster v Connacht All Ireland Club Hurling Semi Finals have thrown up at least two and possibly three of the top 10 greatest games of Hurling this century.

I was watching the Corofin v Claregalway highlights from the weekend there.
Claregalway were well bet after a great start that they had - should Claregalway not be getting closer to Corofin? Have they not had some good underage success in recent years with some very strong numbers coming through?
Also - why does Daithi Burke play for Corofin? Is Claregalway not Turloughmoreâs sister club? (Pitches are right beside each other?) or what way does that work?
His father and all belonged to him played for Corofin, ergoâŠ

Claregalway and Oranmore have dominated the underage grades between them in recent years. Both clubs have big numbers to feed into the club. But it hasnât really had an affect at senior level yet. Claregalway are a solid senior side but not really in the shake up to compete for titles. Oranmore are still stuck toiling in intermediate. Oranmore at least have the excuse that they are one of the few genuine dual clubs in the county. Although I donât think they have that many dual players playing both.

Turloughmore is definitely the nearest hurling pitch to Corofin village, though I think Daithi is a Belclare fella and the closest hurling club there is Sylane. Itâs all reasonably above board anyway, I donât think there is anything untoward in it all. Carnmore is the hurling club in the Claregalway parish, but they would get some fellas from the near end of Turloughmore as well footballing for them.

Was at the Monivea v Dunmore game at the weekend. A dinger. I asked the same question regarding Claregalway, was told they are not holding them.

For me Turloughmore and Clarinbridge are quite different.
Clarinbridge as a parish has become very well to do. Houses there would set up back nearly the same as a middle class Dublin home. Theyâre definitely an up and coming club and could dominate in years to come. But they do have that perception that theyâre a bitten âlightweightâ to be managing a shower of Burkes and Cooneys from the likes of Peterswell.
The Turlougheens are just cunts, and everyone loves putting the boot into them at every given opportunity. A stance I wholeheartedly support.

If Galway are ever to win further All-Ireland senior honours theyâll have to have 2 if not 3 of these dreaded Turlougheens sited between 1-9.
Galwayâs better teams all have had forceful, sturdy defenders going back decades. These 21st century âstylish, wristy ladsâ arenât the answer.

They bet their way to 6 in a row in the 60s. Hated since then.

This Turloughmore hatred is nonsense. Plenty around the county would have a far deeper hatred for the likes of Craughwell and Clarinbridge. Clarinbridge especially as theyâve never produced a hurler of note at county level. Plenty of lads that can fire over a score when youâre 5 or 6 points up. And yet, somehow, they had 8 associated with the All Ireland final team last month.
Every All Ireland winning Galway team since Iâve been alive has featured a Turloughmore man. As for them beating their way to a 6-in-a-row, they played it the same as every other club in the county / country did at that time. They just did it better.

Spoken like fellas with minimal interactions on a daily basis with Turlougheens. They embrace being seen as cunts in an almost Tipp-like fashion tbf.
