That was as good a club game of hurling as you’ll ever see. Ref made sure it went to a replay but a draw probably the right result on the day. Thomas’s lacked a bit of fluency today, Loughrea brought everything but in the end they were lucky to get the replay. That’s their chance gone now you’d have to say

I still hanker for the county finals days in Athenry or Ballinasloe :broken_heart:

The commentary on GBFM was great fun today, the 2 Cyrils and Sean Walsh were completely engrossed and they all went a bit manic coming down the home strait.

Looked a cracker. Have Loughrea any county players apart from Coen?

Tiernan Killeen.

Joe Mooney won us the Wild Geese Cup before going to Mayo as a hurling missionary. Probably our finest hour.

Thought he was very quite today

His first touch was woeful but I’d expect him to go better next week. Jamie Ryan was a bit too far back for me liking too.

Is there a GBFM radio stream from the game?

Cyril kept roaring ‘put it up’ when Loughrea struck two or three in a row in the second half before the goal.

As you’d expect for a man that spent as long as he did working in Loughrea.

Looking at it closely there, did Conor Cooney throw the ball out to Burke for the lead score? Right in front of the ref too.

Very hard to tell, I’d probably give him the benefit of the doubt. The ref played well over time to give loughrea a chance to level it so probably evened things out.

Cyril was fierce like a man that had a few pound on the draw, he was calling a draw from mid way through the second half and told us in a sort of satisfied way at the final whistle the draw was 9/1 :grinning:

Cyril Donnellan is a pretty good match analyst.
