I’m not sure what the other option the Labour party had. At that stage the country was on its knees, are the hard-left suggesting that Labour should have just refused to go into gov?

The pensioners in Galway were “aggrieved” at their treatment by this gov. I thought pensioners basically suffered no cut over the last 7-8 years from either of the past two govs?

If that’s the case, it’s hard to see when the left get back into a position to do anything. SF are organised but the rest of the left is all over the place, and wouldn’t be able to agree a name of a party let alone a coherent grouping. Pure ideologies and ego’s to beat the band but not much in the way of an ability to do the deals, even with themselves, that would get them into government.
