Denis Naughten has a nice surplus of 2,500. Hopkins will be looking for a lot of this from the ex-Fine Gaeler.
2nd counts in Limerick due imminently.
2nd count in the County is in. Collins’ surplus of 1,172 was distributed and Neville (201) did nearly as well as O’Brien (305)
There’ll be a few more meaningless counts but this one is cooked. Neville and O’Donovan will fill the remaining seats.

Inside word from the Dub bay south count. They’ve been delayed because there has been discussion over spoiled votes. Apparently a lot of votes had “show me your gee and I’ll get you a key” scrawled on them. This was in reference to patronage for council houses in return for sexual favours. The votes in dispute were ruled ineligible.

After the distribution of Alex White’s votes of of 4,438, Shatter has stretched his lead over Martin to 490.
One count left, to distribute Mary White’s (FF) votes of 5,463.
My mother had some dealings with him in the council and said he was by far the best of the councillors she dealt with.
