One of those blueshirts has made a lot of money for some of us. Show some respect.
A brown suit. Fucks sake.
This pascal fella is a literal prick it seems.
Noonan + 427 = 9,018
O’Donnell + 335 = 7,512
O’Sullivan + 712 = 7,722
Quinlivan + 3,492 = 10,517
Maurice Quinlivan of Sinn Fein elected
He’s a complete spoofer.
Background in HR says it all.
Mythen now less than 100 behind Kehoe while Wallace overtakes Brown into 2nd after Kellys transfers. Mythen now nearly 2000 clear of Malcolm. This count could get James Brown across the line as first elected and send Malcolm packing.
Farmer Pat outscores Murnane O’Connor 2,214 to 59 on the Pope’s surplus and takes the last seat. David McCullagh will explain all shortly, no doubt.
01:00 Big cheers as Quinlivan takes second seat in City
A huge roar went up from the Sinn Fein supporters in the count centre as their man Maurice Quinlivan became Limerick’s first SF TD in 93 years. He was elected with a surplus of 1164 votes. Those votes are now being distributed among the three candidates left standing - Michael Noonan, Jan O’Sullivan and Kieran O’Donnell
The leader updates are excellent
Mythen now just 96 behind Kehoe after Aoife Byrne’s elimination. Malcolm Byrne will not catch Mythen and it’ll be a straight shoot out between Mythen and Kehoe for the last seat.
Ger Carthy next to be eliminated. If Mythen can break even or stay within 300 or so of Kehoe going into the last count I think Malcolm Byrne’s transfers will get him home.
8th count #Wexford. Browne 10150 Byrne mal 6367 D’Arcy 8490 Howlin 11769 Kehoe. 8344 Mythen 8248 Wallace 10213 Aoife Byrne eliminated
Well deserved, Maurice is an alright sort.
Jan and O’Donnell to fight it out for the last seat, Maurice was always going to get a big swing from @glasagusban’s mate Cian Prendivelle.
01:04 Midnight drama in Limerick
As the clock strikes 12, there are three candidates chasing the final two seats, but it is now virtually certain that they will go to Michael Noonan and Jan O’Sullivan. A devastated Kieran O’Donnell has now left the building accompanied by his wife Phil. Politics is a tough game and after looking like he had held on for most of the day, it does not look good now for him
It’s over. O’Sullivan has it.
Dessie Ellis over the line in Dublin NW. The last seat is a dog fight between Paul McAuliffe FF and Noel Rock FG. Outgoing Labour TD John Lyons’ transfers will probably push the Blueshirt over the line. Counting resumes in the morning.
Darcy isn’t safe yet either. Possible that both Mythen and Kehoe could overtake him which would be the 2nd election in a row he lost out on the last count from transfers.
O’Donnell is fucked
Jaysus I thought she was goosed.
160 votes
Never been a SF TD in limerick City before, thought Jan would lose out to O’Donnell though.
Good result in Limerick City, all told.
@Mac, @Sidney - as you’ve mentioned Wallace, Carthy, Howlin and Mythen did well from the Soc Dem transfers. The picture shows it quite clearly.
I think Carthy on balance will transfer more strongly to Mythen than Kehoe and Malcolm Byrne’s elimination will also benefit Mythen more.
While Sinn Féin could fail to take seats they were expected to win, this could very much be an upset win based on a 10% first preference result.
Big blow for FG losing a seat, FF topping the poll & SF gaining a seat - very representative of the mood of the electorate across the country in Limerick city tonight.
