I was thinking that myself earlier. This weekend could be like teams over-celebrating a tight win in a ding dong league / O’Byrne Cup match with another meeting in the championship just around the corner. Cue the tables being turned and the victor talking about being motivated by what happened earlier in the year*.

*end of boring analogy.

These Labour interviews are absolutely hilarious. Even the blueshirts can admit they fucked up. The Labour head honchos sound like they’re trying to save themselves from a savaging by their own grassroots.

Who was talking?

I think youre mixing me up with someone else chief. I wouldnt be an SF or Adams supporter but I certainly didnt say 24 seats was a bad result for SF

Former TD Alex White

Very disappointing result in Cavan-Monaghan.

Cavan showing itself to be very much entrenched in free state corruption.

This lad is some clown.

A future leader I’d say. In his own head.

Incredible result considering SF’s apparent strength along the border counties.

It has over 25% first preferences in the border counties. Cavan is a shithole though that is full of tight, miserable, gutless fuckers.

for what:eyeglasses:

Maclochlainn only got 500 or so of G.Doherty’s transfers, with 3400 going to Pearse Doherty. I imagine a good chunk of those will find their way back to MacLochlainn when Doherty’s surplus (2000 odd) is distributed.

He’ll probably be ahead of Pringle after the Doherty surplus but with another 10k or so votes of independents to distribute after that count he will have little chance.

You have 3 left wing, republican candidates running from the old Donegal North East constituency and it looks like there’s only room for one of them.

Just back from the count centre in NUIG to see our man Trev lose out to blueshirt Naughton.

A very nice man in the Naughton camp I was talking to had the look of a man about to have a nervous breakdown. He was politely scathing about the party’s campaign and threw his eyes to the sky when he mentioned Enda Kenny’s whingers “comment”.

The Shinners I was talking to had a resigned look but were taking a philosophical view of the forthcoming result and the Dail term ahead.

The Fine Gaeler had a beard while the Shinners were clean shaven.

Ged Nash is going to pull one out of the fire for Labour in Louth.

shut up

I was reading about that Identity crowd today. What a pack of racist idiots. Hilarious that one of the symbols used by these sorts is the crossed circle you often see at BNP/EDL/UKIP rallies, once adopted by English racists who used to target Irish people for beatings.

They always seem to be head-quartered in Cork too. That Áine Ní Chonaill of the Immigration Control Platfom (unsurprisingly a former PD) was from Cork as well. Classic quote from her wikipedia page:

“If the choice is between having homosexuals from these countries having to act discretely and us being swamped with alleged homosexual claims from 80 countries around the world then they will just have to act discreetly.”

I dunno, he got less of the AAA-PBP transfers than Fitzpartick FG got
I wouldn’t be convinced the Munster surplus will find it’s way to him.

Overjoyed at the thoughts of all the insider dealing he’ll be creaming over the next term.

Surprising figures alright.

Munster now has a surplus of 1,874 and the gap from Fitzpatrick to Nash is 477.

Still think it’s doable for Nash.
