Sure the troubles have had fuck all impact on most in the South, aside from a bit of posturing. Is it really a factor for how most people vote?

I think he was talking about waking in the morning to hear on the news that a body had been found on some laneway and that the IRA claimed responsibility or listening to the details of Warrington or Adare or the Shankhill bomb, or human bombs or a hundred other atrocities and then listening to Adams trying to talk it all away etc.
That may not have sickened you to your core, although I’m not sure why, but it did for a lot of other Irish people.
That being said, I don’t think SF should be automatically ruled out of gov by FF and FG at this stage subject to certain conditions
99% of the party had nothing to with SF at the height of the troubles. Neither did 99% of their voters in the south now
So as you say, dismissing them from gov is absurd and out of touch with reality today.
