Fair play to Martin on this. Not that Cowan did anything too serious but contrast this with the way varadkar let Fitzgerald and Bailey dominate the news cycle without being decisive.
At least itā€™s leadership

Itā€™s the cover up, not the offence that usually gets them.

New Agriculture Minister?

Calleary? Itā€™ll almost certainly be a West of Ireland TD after all the hullabaloo over no Cabinet Minister from Donegal until Kerry.

Shortest serving Minister in the history of the state ??

Jim McDaid lasted about a day in 1991.

Thatā€™s right, wasnā€™t even a day Iā€™d say. He attended an anti extradition meeting a few years previous and that was thought unacceptable by Mick

I take it not Ballysteen new season queens ?

Canā€™t bate the Kinvaras cc KP

Cowen was meant to have been an agitator behind the scenes against Martin in recent years. It was a surprise he was chosen ahead of Calleary for a ministry position. Could this be Machiavellian by Martin? Setting up and taking down his nemesis Cowen to make himself look decisive, ruthless and a true leader, while also showing that FF are different and mean business.

And getting his lapdog Byrne to leak it to the media. It canā€™t be completely ruled out

Does Cowen go with full TD privilege?

Calleary would also have been seen as an agitator against Champ. He made him Deputy Leader to keep him busy and out of mischief. Heā€™ll find it hard to fuck him over again though.

There is a view that the new season spuds and carrots might be suffering from the very dry April and May

Give it Michael Healy Rea to end of the season.
