Dan OâBrienâs thesis that the voters would desert Sinn Fein at a second election in the short term seems to be bearing out well.
Itâs the big momentum at this stage.
Really the only hope for FF/FG is a few stable years of coalition.
FG fudged the homeless figures before the election⌠Dirt bags.
That was only akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic ( or at a Sinn Fein mass meeting) . The public had passed judgement on F.G. housing policy .
We had FG men on here telling us the public jumped too soon and that homelessness and housing was sorted.
Houses are being built but the public had their mind made up . There are lies , damned lie and then there are statistics .
There will be no housing crisis in 6 months pal.
Itâs an incredible transformation of Irish politics. FF and FG might be desperate to try and put a government together now.

Genius by SF. Theyâve won the election that was a good one to lose, but have driven the civil war parties so demented in doing so that theyâll join together to govern and end up ruining themselves in the midst of an economic crash and a disease outbreak. SF will take 48.7% of the popular vote when the coalition inevitably fails in 24-30 months.

I really canât see the Greens doing that. Even if the TDs wanted it (unlikely given most of them are very new to the DĂĄil anyway and havenât been frustrated by time in opposition), I canât see enough of the membership supporting it.
