That’s neither here nor there, people voted for change apparently. So you need to give them that change.
Forming a coalition Govt is all about managing compromise. SF need to do what it takes it bring everyone on board with the will of the people.

The numbers dont add up mate… more than 50% didnt vote change… you’re just running off home with your ball now.
There are only about four independents who might be ideologically inclined to support a Sinn Fein led government and perhaps another four or five who would be willing to be pork barrelled into it.
The numbers are not there and it couldn’t work without FF or FG abstaining en bloc, in which case you would only need Sinn Fein and the Greens.
The windmilling from the establishment shills has been something else today… they took one clean box to the chops and they are running off home crying. As much as i dont like it, there’s no way a gov can be formed without one of FFG.
If not with their actual participation, certainly not without their co-operation.
FFG haven’t a clue which way to turn now, they never expected to be in this situation and they’re reeling.

I popped into the Alliance Francaise cafe on Kildare St for a coffee at around 11.45 this morning. O’Riordain and Nash were sitting down together and were having a very intense discussion, I’d say one will back the other.
