He’s seething — Having it all their own way for 100 years has given these chaps such a sense of entitlement they cant handle a fraction of change … that’s pure snowflake-ism if ever i’ve seen it.
We need assurances on a Border Poll.
There will be a border poll
…Incorrect. They have less than 80 seats.A government can be formed. That’s basic maths. If the people who sat on the sidelines the last time can’t form a government when they have the chance, you have to ask if they are serious operators.
An inter-party government was formed in 1948 of Fine Gael, Labour, National Labour, Clann na Poblachta, Clann na Tamhlann and Independent is a government of Change.
It can be done.
A government of the left encompassing IRA/SF, Greens, Labour, Social Democrats, PBP and a few like minded Independents.
…ack to the bigger parties. This time, support came back to Sinn Fein. I imagine Sinn Fein will work very hard to address the lack of representation at local level in preparation for the next time there are local elections. You can get away with neglecting the grass roots for a while but not long term.
How do you assert that SF got back a vote they never had?
The RIC issue, FG/FF/RTE blanking Mary Lou in debates & more Dole brought out an imaginary following which will desert both them & democracy very quickly once they feel let down.
That’s an honest truth. SF had plenty of candidates for the Local Elections & performed horribly.
Local election became a climate issue.
GE became a housing/ health issue.
Completely different issues.
How many more posts are you gonna go with the dole / unemployed quip? another 20?

Calling Sinn Fein supporters “dolers” is just the sort of sneering that will make people desert SF. Yeah.

Same lads calling out Shinners for wanting tax reductions. They’re all over the shop.

I think that’s why @Tim_Riggins is desperate for a Sinn Fein government., he hates tax, he thinks it’s theft.
I’m excited to see the new government they are going to form, that’s all.
When exactly did you turn into Sidney? We get it already
So does this mean SF doesn’t want to govern?
They’ve pissed into a gale and are retreating for new underwear.
Local election about Climate change?
The same lads will tell you that language is very important apparently – they get bent out of shape by SF using certain types of language and sloganism but then they themselves can engage in any form of poison they want … the right wing brigade are a strange lot.
Sidney dragging another interesting topic and debate down to Nembo Kids level and slowly driving TFK into obscurity and irrelevance.
Wait. Was there a time TFK wasn’t obscure and was relevant?
Yes, did you not see the result?? The Green party saw a massive surge…
Leo the Tan now claiming Fine Gael are the Republican Party!
how does that work numbers wise?
SF just won a landside victory… its all over the news. FG don’t want to be in government. Nominate Mary Lou next week … have a vote and she will win. FG will sit on their hands.
If in 4 years SF have solved the Housing and Health crisis its a win-win. If the IMF are back in well FG will clean it up again.
Sinn Fein Ard-Comhairle member looking to muzzle the media. You’d think they’d wait till they’re in government before flexing the authoritarian muscle.
Will the troika lay out a plan for them this time also or will the go it alone and go balls deep in vulture funds and the likes this time? - It nearly killed Michael Noonan having to arrange 68 such meetings a few years back.
Yes, did you not see the result?? The Green party saw a massive surge…
My local election vote was specifically made on climate issues. Over 1,000 trees have been planted in the area since then as a result of our new Green councillor, whose name I can’t remember.
