Can you imagine what the real attendances are compared to whatâs being officially released? they are actually up 22% more on the 300% they are up.
The GAA never revealed their true hand. Remarkable. Probably another 10k programme sellers and stewards.
But then you have to allow for how much they deflated the official figure last year and there is no knowing what that factor could be.
The hurling and football championships have caught the imagination of the public.
Exceptional figures. And not even needed to arrange a replayed semi final or final yet.
Another Kerry-Mayo replay in Limerick would be box office.
Itâs no surprise theyâre attracting big crowds. Hurling is a fantastic spectacle for all lovers of sport. My Mrs asked yesterday were there any other sports that attract those numbers for games with players that donât get paid. Only one I could think of would be college football in the States. Weâre lucky to have it.
